Project 2 - Elements and Principles of Art
Name: Brookelyn Beyers
Description: For this project, we made a presentation that described the elements and principles of art. Within that presentation, we had to take photos that portrayed each of the twelve elements and principles. Attached below are my five favorite photos, that I took, that display the elements and principles of art.
Contrast - This image was taken at the top of a trail in the Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado. It portrays contrast because there is positive and negative space i.e.: the shadow and the non-shadow.
Texture - This image was taken at the top of Mount Culter in North Cheyenne Mountain Park Colorado. It portrays texture because it depicts a rocky, rough, hard texture.
Color - This image was taken on the drive up to Pikes Peak in Colorado. It portrays color because there are a variety of different colors present in the image.
Balance - This image was taken in the Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado. It portrays balance because the rock is asymmetrical. Also, it appears to the eye that the rock is "balancing" on the lower rock formation.
Extension Activity: Use these photos and incorporate them into a Kahoot game. This could be used as a pre or post-test. Another way to include these concepts in the classroom would be for students to find objects or places to take images of. For example, younger grades could focus on one element or principle to take pictures of. Or, older grades could include a variety of elements and principles to take pictures of. These class photos could then be gathered by the teacher and made into a Kahoot game or a slideshow.
